Jumbo Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies

The name of this post says it all! Per request of one of my good friends, I decided to get dark chocolate chips at Target and no lemons. Those lemon bars I made last week are my favorite, summer things right now! But these cookies are so freaking good, you all better make them very soon 😉 Soft, chewy, chocolaty goodness! Here we go…

What you will need:

1- 10 oz. package of Nestle Toll House Dark Chocolate Morsels, divided
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter at room temperature
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

To make the dough:

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.

Preheat oven to 325 degrees fahrenheit. Note: This dough does NOT need to be chilled before baking!

Melt 2/3 cup of the chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl. With the power on high, first for 30 seconds, stir, and then additional 10 second intervals, stirring just until morsels have melted. Set aside to cool.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt and set aside.

In a large bowl (or bowl of your electric mixer), beat butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar until creamy. Add the melted chocolate and beat until incorporated. Add the egg and vanilla and mix until well blended. Stir in flour mixture (get your arm muscles ready!), and mix until just combined. Stir in remaining 1 cup of chocolate chips. Eat some dough.

Drop dough by 1/4 cup onto prepared baking sheet, measuring 3 inches apart for each cookie. Bake for 16-17 minutes, the tops will have a cracked appearance. Let cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before moving to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy!

And just to show you how big these things really are…
